Bitwise Asset Management has entered the decentralized finance (DeFi) space through a strategic partnership with Maple Finance, marking its first institutional allocation in the sector.
This collaboration enables Bitwise to access on-chain credit markets while leveraging Maple’s regulatory-compliant infrastructure for structured and transparent lending.
The move highlights Bitwise’s increasing involvement in crypto-native investments, with the firm looking to generate dynamic, uncorrelated returns. Jeff Park, Bitwise’s Head of Alpha Strategies, emphasized Maple’s strong track record in institutional capital deployment and risk management, noting that the platform’s expertise positions Bitwise and its clients for confident participation in DeFi.
Beyond its Maple partnership, Bitwise is expanding its crypto-related offerings. The firm recently filed an S-1 application with the SEC for an Aptos ETF, aiming to provide investors with regulated exposure to the Layer 1 blockchain. Additionally, Bitwise has been actively launching crypto-focused ETFs and is reportedly making moves toward a Dogecoin ETF, fueling speculation about the memecoin’s price trajectory. The firm also plans to allocate 10% of its ETF earnings to support Bitcoin’s open-source development.
